Series name: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Canon notes: From the book version of the series, between The Restuarant at the End of the Universe and So Long and Thanks For All the Fish
Species: Betelgusian. Zaphod looks more or less human, except for the minor detail of how he has two heads (next to each other) and a fully functional third arm growing out under his right arm.
History: Much of Zaphod's history is left unclear by canon, but here is what we do know.
- During his youth, he snuck aboard one of the largest freighter starships in existance on a dare.
- He spent most of his school reprogramming his computer to help him sleep with one of his classmates. (This backfired. The girl in question ended up falling in love with his computer instead of him.)
- He owned several businesses, including a starship salvage company and a secondhand ballpoint pen business.
- He performed brain surgery on himself, in which he locked off part of his mind that knew of a secret plan to steal a starship and meet the person who actually rules the universe. Part of this plan involved becoming president of the galaxy.
- He became president of the galaxy (a position with no actual power whatsoever. The job of the President is to distract the public from who is ACTUALLY making all the decisions with an endless series of scandals and publicity stunts. Zaphod was VERY good at this job.).
- While he was president, he snuck into a fancy dress party on Earth and picked up a human girlfriend.
- After he stole the starship mentioned above, he spent a goodly amount of time on the run from his own government.
Personality: In his own words, Zaphod is "clever, imaginative, irresponsible, untrustworthy, extrovert, nothing you couldn't have guessed".
Abilities: Nothing unusual to speak of, besides the extra arm and extra head.
